Brian Gorman’s Debut Single

Unfortunately for my poor beloved mother, I didn’t turn out anywhere as religious as she would have liked, though as a sinner, I’m actually kind of a boring one. No more days of hedonistic partying — no more hanging out dancing at raves and clubs all night (Am I the only one who misses LSD? I am? Okay — moving on.) Anyway, those hard-partying days are a couple of decades (Geez that’s depressing) in the rear-view mirror, though it kind of makes me wonder what I’ve been doing with all my time since?

Which brings me to my friend Brian Gorman who takes his faith seriously and is talented to boot. He’s a Christian singer/songwriter who recently journeyed to Nashville, the mecca of honky-tonk bars, to professionally record some faith-based songs. And to show my support (and maybe win a little leniency for my wicked boring ways), I thought I’d give him a shout out and post one of his songs, Wake Me Up, for you to listen too. This one is about to debut on the radio and get a bit of airplay, which is exciting for Brian. Here’s hoping it gets a lot of traction with the religious crowd!

Anyway, take a listen and see what you think! I really like the hook, which kicks in at the 1:15 mark.

If you like what you hear, check out Brian Gorman Music for more of Brian’s faith-based music.

And if you’d like to support his efforts you can make out a check to Sean D. Layton and send it to me. For ultimate ease, you can use my PayPal account. He’ll get every penny, I swear. (Dang, there goes that sinning thing again.)

Speaking of sinning, read a sample chapter from Not Helping, a book I’m working on about a tale of addiction and redemption.

Thanks, me too! It’s a long, slooooooow process, so long and slow that my friends have been making fun of me for quite some time about it. I have a love-hate relationship with my writing and talent level (or lack thereof as may be), but I’m determined to stick it through and see what happens!
